Joe James - Bass and Vocals

Joe started playing Bass in the mid-80’s, at the encouragement of his friends who had already bought guitars.  He took a break for a few years but picked it up again while living in Chicago in the late 90’s.  While in Chicago, Joe appeared in Dashboard Aspen, Yer Mothers Lovers (a regular in the Chicago Punk circuit) and the Progressive Rock band Outgrowth.  The Chicago days produced a lot of original songs, and Joe has original compositions on the soundtrack to the film Lana’s Rain, as well as and EP from YML and a full length album from Outgrowth.  You might even find one or two songs that he co-wrote on the Dashboard Aspen Soundcloud page.

In his playing career, Joe has been fortunate enough to play legendary Chicago clubs such as The Double Door, Excalibur and Metro.  YML had a limited run opening for Fall Out Boy.
